Which Pillow / Mattress Should I Choose?

Hello everyone,

This is actually being written upon a request...Thank Ms. Natalie!! I do get this question a lot, what pillow and / or mattress is the best? Here is my answer, and I am no expert, this is only my opinion.

First the mattress. I am leaving all the pillow toppers and memory foam stuff and sleep numbers out of this discussion. I think that your mattress hardness is the real question, and has a lot to do with what position you like to sleep in. If you sleep on your back, and softer mattress can be of benefit, allowing your body to contour to the mattress with all of the curves. If you sleep on your side or belly, then a firmer mattress is best to give the support to the spine, especially the lumbar spine.

Next the pillow. Again, do you sleep on your back or side or belly. Please consider the amount of space between the outer tip of the shoulder and your head. If you sleep on your side, your pillow should fill up this space. Now this space is probably bigger than you need if you are on your back, and would probably lift the head and neck up too high, as well as if you slept on your belly. Back and belly sleepers would probably want a thinner pillow. If you tend to sleep in all positions, then you may have multiple pillows just in case!

Now, onto my favorite. The body pillow. I have one and love it. It is 6 feet long and I like to sleep on my side and lay into / on it and have one leg over. It is really great and if you are a side or belly sleeper, I highly suggest giving it a try.

Thanks for reading and have a great day. And as usual, the office would appreciate a nice review if you have time. Please click here if you have a moment to give a quick rating on Google. Thanks!!
