Simple Exercise Tips To Keep Off Those Unwanted Pounds During The Holiday Season

Hello Everyone,

Ok, here are simple tips to keep in mind:

1. Obviously, just eat a little less. Stop eating when you are full.

2. Your exercise does not have to be hard. Simple walking is one of the best forms of exercise. It involves the entire body, gets the heart rate up and keeps the joints mobile. You don't have to have a gym membership to do it, nor do you need to have a treadmill. All you have to do it go outside and walk. Use the dog as an excuse, and take it for a walk. Get your spouse up and make them go for a walk with you around the block or up the street and back.

3. Exercise smarter and not harder. Think about the timing when you will exercise. The best time to exercise is when your blood sugar is lower. Such as first thing in the morning, or about 3-4 hours after your last meal. This will demand that your body burn fat instead of sugar for fuel. Also, if you are weight training as well as walking or doing some form of cardio, then consider lifting weights first. I know that most people feel that getting the cardio out of the way before the weight lifting seems more normal, but think about this. When you weight train first, your body burns all of the sugar in the muscles first and then begins to tap into the sugar within the liver and blood. Then you get on the treadmill and tap directly into fat for feul. If you do cardio first, your body will save the sugar in the muscles and then use them after cardio when weight training instead of burning fat.

4. Weight training combined with cardio can also burn calories even when you are not working out becuase your body uses calories for processes such as muscle repair and the metabolism of the body will be raised more quicly with both weight training and cardio combined.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions, please reply and let me know.

Thanks and hope you all are having a nice Holiday Season.
